By Anonymous August 19, 2004 -- The Welsh Rugby Players Association is an official union created to look after the welfare of professional rugby player who ply their trade in Wales, UK. Part of the international body of Rugby Players Associations, the WRPA does a huge amount of good work, looking after each of its members, giving out advice on insurance, retirement advice, financial advice and working with the Welsh Rugby Union to improve conditions for its members.
Due to the nature of the work they carry out, communication is key in dealing with the often complex issues surrounding players welfare. And not just with the Players themselves, the WRPA relies on the generosity of local business partners and the public to help fund it’s operations.
Providing players, their clubs, the Union, fans, businesses and the press with information from a single source is not ease. So to help improve communication to both the players the public, and everyone else, the WRPA have recently launched their new web site www.wrpa.co.uk.
Built using the KorbizWeb system supplied by Lobster-iT Ltd (www.lobster-it.co.uk), the system gives the all visitors access to vital information regarding the WRPA.
The Players get an exclusive members area where they can get information on Insurance and financial advice, access to agents and much more. The public get news, player information, updates on events such as the Annual Awards dinner and other fund raisers, while the supporting businesses, clubs and the Welsh Rugby Union get free promotion and links back to their own sites.
All this from a single web site built in only 4 days.
The site is able to achieve all of these functions by utilising the power of the KorbizWeb solution provided by advanced web designers Lobster-iT Ltd. The Korbiz system gives the administrator of the site complete control over the content and layout of the site. It even allows them to create numerous exclusive areas without the need to know any programming skills or refer back to the developers at Lobster-iT.
More information on the WRPA can be found at www.wrpa.co.uk.

By Anonymous Gloucester Rugby Club, the "Cherry and Whites", have made further investments in the clubs infrastructure, to Improve tickets sales by phone, in person and on the Internet.
Gloucester Rugby Club have been investing in improving "the shed" as their (some say rightly) ground is known. As part of that improvement, they have expanded the ticket office, to make access to tickets, quick, simple and widely available.
After rebuilding the ticket office, the club invested in the Data Factors Managed Service. This allows the club to build a database, while providing faster more customer focused sales from both the ticket office and on the telephone. The service will soon allow them to sell tickets on the Internet as well. Charlie Little, the clubs Commercial Manager is keen to ensure simple, quick access to tickets, for both regular supporters and those that are just looking for leisure pursuits in their area but may not be rugby fans.
Data Factors spokesperson said “We are the only company allowing our customers to sell on the Internet and locally, while not having any need to allocate tickets and still being able to chose particular seats. This is seen by many as a key advantage for the customer and hence it improves ticket sales”.
For further information, contact Simon Clark at Data Factors on 0800 526460 or email ecomm@datafactors.co.uk
